Pulsating, high-energy and sensual – with a guitar lick that will have you craving more WIPEOUT is the newest single from New Age Notion.
Recorded at Airlock Studios (Powderfinger, The Jungle Giants and The Belligerents) with Yanto Browning and mastered by Grammy award winning engineer William Bowden (Goyte).
WIPEOUT announces a new sonic palate for the band exploring greater production and electronic elements whilst still incorporating and infusing the bright guitars and expansive choruses from previous releases.
New Age Notion are Ryan McErlean (Vocals, Guitar), Riley Smith (Lead Guitar) and Cameron Smith (Drums). The Brisbane based indie-pop rockers formed in 2015 and have quickly garnered a dedicated fan base. The band have also had exclusive support slots with Montaigne (Triple J Album of the Year) As it Is and Masketta Fall in just this short period of time.
The journey of New Age Notion began when lifelong friends Riley Smith and Ryan McErlean made the decision to take their love of music to the next level after playing together for over five years and start a band. Very quickly thereafter Cameron Smith, brother of Riley, stepped in as the band's drummer.
New Age Notion’s debut EP ‘What Happened to Forever’ arrived in 2016 and holds sentimental value for the band as it is not only their debut single, but was the first song the band wrote together. The EP is a collection of songs from the formative years, taking inspiration from personal experiences of love, heartbreak, and friendship.
It debuted with high praise from Kyle Butcher of Blank Gold Coast describing it as “vocals that are precariously dancing between blues and pop…The production on this track is great, and the drums help build up to the chorus perfectly…Considering this track is a debut single from New Age Notion, I am definitely keeping my eye on them.”
The band’s image, aesthetic, appearance and sonics are all a major component of what makes up New Age Notion demonstrating the band’s dedication and commitment to their craft.
After completing their national EP tour the band took some time to write and record new music and now WIPEOUT has arrived. This is the first song from the new collection of music from the band and will be a part of the new EP which will be released in 2019.
